Swancar Farm Wedding Photographer

My first wedding of 2017 saw me head to Nottingham for Emma and James at Swancar Farm. Swancar Farm is a new venue for myself, It is just outside Nottingham city centre and it’s a beautiful wedding venue. Swancar Farm is a 16th century country house that is now an exclusive use wedding venue, set in 250 acres of countryside. it’s the perfect venue for a rustic wedding.

Emotional Moments

What made Emma and James’ wedding even more special is that I know Emma as she is one of my sister in law’s best friends. There was a warm welcome when I arrived to shoot the morning preparation. Emma was joined by her two daughters Tilly and Annie who provided endless photo opportunities as Emma got ready. Once Emma was ready there was an emotional moment when her father saw her and his two granddaughters.

Andy Murphy DJ

Emma wasn’t the only familiar face at the wedding as Andy Murphy was wedding host and DJ! I love working with Andy Murphy, not only is he one of the nicest guys you could wish to meet, he’s a multi award winning DJ too and he’s great fun to be around. Andy was also doubling up his duties by delivering the light up letters from The Word Is Love too. I couldn’t possibly reveal that Andy may have set the words up to read Mr & Mrs Doom (rather than Wood)! I love working with both The Word is Love and Andy Murphy (which I had only done a few weeks before at Sarah and Steve’s Oh Me Oh My wedding). They are top wedding pro’s and they really add to your wedding day.

Wedding Service

The wedding service was wonderful and emotional. James watched as Tilly and Annie walked down the aisle before Emma arrived and it was lovely to see how happy Emma and James are. Despite the freezing January weather, Emma and James braved the biting cold for their couple photos before the speeches and wedding breakfast. With the night closing in, Emma and James ventured out into the rain and cold for their big shot, which you can see at the top of the blog! With Andy Murphy in fine form the dance-floor was rocking late into the night!

So here’s my day as Emma and James’ Swancar Farm wedding photographer, music by Tom Odell, photos by me…
