Wedding At Gorton Monastery

As a Manchester wedding photographer I love working at the amazing venues all over the city. When Lauren and Adam asked me to shoot their Gorton Monastery wedding photography I could not wait. It was my first time shooting at one of Manchester’s most unique venues. In 1997 Manchester Monastery was put on the Worlds Monuments Fund Watch List of the 100 Most Endangered Sites, alongside Macchu Picchu, Pompeii and The Taj Mahal. The Monastery was restored and re-opened to the public in 2007, so now you can now have your wedding at Gorton Monastery.

Typical Manchester Weather

Lauren got ready at home in Manchester city centre and from there I made my way to Gorton Monastery for the wedding service. Gorton Monastery wedding photography is fantastic, the venue is stunning and every angle of the building looks amazing on camera. Lauren and Adam got married within the amazing surroundings of The Monastery and it was a wonderful marriage service. With typical Manchester weather outside the confetti was thrown in the marquee before the wedding guests enjoyed canapes and drinks.

Top Table

The fantastic team from Top Table were on hand so the wedding food was superb. I worked with the Top Table team at Erin and Andy’s Sandhole Oak Barn wedding and their food really is top class. Once the meal and speeches were complete, Lauren and Adam braved the less than perfect weather for their couple photos outside Gorton Monastery. With the photos in the bag it was back inside Gorton Monastery. The brilliant Jukebox Band were on hand to get the first dance and evening reception going. Having seen Jukebox Band is action in June at Julia and Jo’s wedding at The Belle Epoque, I knew Lauren and Adam’s reception was going to be a great night.
