Gemma and Ant’s Styal Lodge Wedding
Styal Lodge Wedding
Gemma and Ant are probably the only couple I’ll ever photograph who were actually pleased to see rain on their wedding day. When Gemma and Ant got married, they were living in Dubai, so when they headed back to Cheshire for their Styal Lodge wedding there were no complaints when the rain started. This was my first time as a Styal Lodge wedding photographer at one of Cheshire’s most popular wedding venues. The lodge is close to Styal golf club and features exposed wooden beams and a huge windows which throws beautiful natural light throughout the venue. It’s an exclusive use venue and perfect for couples who want a venue the is a little different to the normal wedding venue.
Wedding Preparations
I met up with Ant a the Stannylands hotel for the groom preparations, where the gents enjoyed a cup of tea (ahem, well, maybe a pint) before I headed off to Styal Lodge to see Gemma. The bridal room is great at Styal Lodge. It’s a huge space with plenty of natural window light and it’s a great area for preparation photos. Things got emotional when Gemma’s brother arrived to give her away and he couldn’t hold back the tears when he saw Gemma in her wedding dress.
The Lake at Styal Lodge
Gemma and Ant wanted a fun, relaxed wedding day and this started at their service where they fist pumped at the top of the aisle before laughing their way through the wedding service. Once married the fun continued throughout the drinks reception. With a short break in the rain, we raced into the garden for some photos before heading up to the lake at Styal Lodge for the signature photos from Styal Lodge. The speeches followed the wedding breakfast before the evening reception was started with Jukebox band kicking off the evening celebrations. I loved shooting Gemma and Ant’s Styal Lodge wedding. It was a great day and I am looking forward to heading back to Styal Lodge soon.
