Wedding at Sandhole Oak Barn

I always enjoy shooting weddings at Sandhole Oak Barn and it was great to return for Nikki and Mike’s wedding. After last weekend’s baking hot sunshine at Laura and Ed’s wedding at Peckforton Castle, it was a return to traditional spring weather in Cheshire, overcast and somewhat cooler than the last weekend. Nikki and her bridesmaids were getting ready in the bridal suite and it was a very calm morning as Nikki was a very relaxed bride. Aside from a bottle of champagne that refused to open, everything went perfectly before the emotional moment when Nikki’s dad John saw her in her wedding dress for the first time.

Wedding Ceremony

I joined Mike and his best men (all 5 of them) inside Sandhole Oak Barn. Mike was just as relaxed as his bride to be as he joked with his best men and dad. Nikki made her way up the aisle and Mike just about kept it together during the service. With smiles and laughter throughout their marriage, it was a lovely wedding ceremony, ending with the guests showering Nikki and Mike in confetti as they left Sandhole Oak Barn.

Reception Drinks

The reception drinks were held on the terrace overlooking the lake at Sandhole Oak Barn. It was a lovely setting for canapes and drinks. With the group shots done in 5 minutes there was plenty of time for Nikki and Mike to enjoy the company of their guests before we headed off for 15 minutes of couple photos around the barn. The speeches followed, opened by Nikki’s father John and closed by two of Mike’s best men, who had the guests laughing and cheering with their fantastic speeches. The wedding breakfast was fantastic (as I was lucky enough to be treated to 3 courses) and hats off to the team at Top Table who looked after me all day.

Evening Reception

After the wedding breakfast I took the opportunity to grab a few more couple photos with Nikki and Mike on the driveway leading to Sandhole Oak Barn. Once we’d finished the photos it was time for the evening reception to start with the first dance before Nikki and Mark partied hard long into the night. I really enjoyed returning to Sandhole Oak Barn and I can’t wait to return in a couple of weeks! Here’s a few sneak peeks from Nikki and Mark’s wedding day at Sandhole Oak Barn…
