Colshaw Hall is one of the very best venues in the country and I was delighted to return to photograph Lindsay and Martin’s wedding on Good Friday. Colshaw Hall is a beautiful venue and one I have had the pleasure of working at on a number of occasions. It’s a stunning Grade II listed house, formerly a family home, and the warm, welcoming feeling of a family home has been retained, so whilst there is opulence and grandeur throughout the venue, there is always a welcoming feeling too. With a the brilliant team of Shelley and Sarah on hand throughout the day, ably assisted by Toastmaster Ian Brown, every wedding at Colshaw Hall is the perfect wedding experience. Lindsay and Martin were a wonderfully relaxed, easy going couple who wanted a fun wedding. With stunning weather, it was clear that their Colshaw Hall wedding was going to be a brilliant day.

Say Yes To The Dress

Lindsay and Martin’s wedding was being filmed for Gok Wan’s Say Yes To the Dress. Lindsay selected her dress with the help of the TV fashion expert and to help complete the show, some of the wedding was to be filmed for the TV series. Shooting a wedding that features on a TV show isn’t something new to myself, having photographed Holly and Anthony’s Don’t Tell The Bride wedding a few years ago. Working around a film crew has it’s challenges and it’s safe to say, it will add a little extra stress and challenge on your wedding day. However, the dress that Lindsay choose looked amazing on her and going on the show certainly paid off!

The Best Grooms Speech Ever

I’d heard that Martin had been working hard on his grooms speech. In fact, it took one year to write, film and prepare for. I didn’t know what was coming. Lindsay is a huge Robbie Williams fan, so Martin wrote a speech that re-worked his big hits, so the lyrics were all about the members of the bridal party, their daughter Molly and of course, Lindsay. Each person was then filmed and a hilarious video was projected behind Martin as her performed his speech. I have never seen a speech as good. It was outstanding and the best grooms speech I have ever witnessed. Every guest was on their feet, dancing, laughing and crying and it was a dream to photograph such joyous moments. The reactions were priceless and I am delighted with the shots I got below. Martin was brilliant and I can only imagine how his best man must have felt having to follow his speech.
