Having photographed many weddings at Eaves Hall, it’s been a long time coming to shoot at sister venue Mitton Hall. I was delighted when Becky and Johnny’s booked me to be their Mitton Hall wedding photographer. I knew this was going to be a fun filled wedding as I first me Johnny when he was best man at Lisa and Ben’s wedding at Beeston Manor wedding back in 2016. That wedding was a lively affair and I knew Becky and Johnny’s wedding day would be just as much fun. It was a brilliant day, from relaxed bridal preparations, to a lovely church service and then a fun filled party at one of the North West’s most luxurious venues.

The Wedding

Mitton Hall is a beautiful country house wedding venue set in the Ribble Valley. It’s a stunning venue with a fantastic team working hard to ensure each wedding runs seamlessly. Becky started the day at her mum’s house with the preparations. With seven bridesmaids on hand to help out, the champagne and laughter flowed leading up to Becky getting in ‘the dress’. Once Becky was in her dress and her father had seen her for the first time, I set off to the Christ Church Walshaw to catch up with Johnny, who was relaxed and in great form as we waited for Becky to arrive. The marriage service was wonderful, with laughter and emotion in equal measure as Becky and Johnny said their ‘I do’s’ thanks to a brilliant service from Rev. Steve Openshaw.

Alex Birtwell

With the group photos completed at the church, Becky, Johnny and their guests made the journey over to Mitton Hall for drinks and canapes. It was great to see Alex Birtwell again. Alex is a brilliant musician and wedding host and he had the wedding reception dancing away throughout the day. It’s a great idea to have live music throughout your wedding day, it adds wonderful atmosphere to your reception. Whilst the guests enjoyed the drink, Becky and Johnny joined me for 20 minutes of couple photos in the grounds and inside Mitton Hall. As always, nothing posed and awkward, just some lightly directed photos and some time for Becky and Johnny to spend together. The speeches followed the wedding breakfast and then we were onto the cake cut. With DFC on duty alongside Alex, Becky and Johnny’s wedding went on long into the night. I loved being their Mitton Hall wedding photographer. A big thank you to the Emma and the staff for looking after me and Mitton Hall has jumped straight into my top 5 weddings venues. I cannot wait to return in July!

Mitton Hall

Mitton Hall is a 15th Century manor house set in the beautful Ribble Valley near Clitheroe. There are 18 on site bedrooms, featuring stunning fixtures and fittings (I can vouch for this having stayed there for the 2017 Wedding Industry Awards Final).

The Party Room

Mitton Hall boasts one of the very best rooms for a wedding or party. A purpose built party room is the ideal space for your wedding, wedding breakfast and evening reception. Flooded with natural light through the conservatory, it is the perfect setting for your wedding. With a private bar area, your wedding is kept seperate from the rest of the Hall and ensures the very best service for your guests. As with all venues that James Places own. the food at Mitton Hall is outstanding.  With a huge range of options, the chefs can create something spectacular for your wedding and the food is absolutely wonderful at Mitton Hall.
