Kate and Chris’ Wedding at Abbeywood Estate
Wedding at Abbeywood Estate
My final wedding of 2015 was an absolute corker and for Kate and Chris’ wedding at Abbeywood Estate. It also meant I got to finish the year working alongside my good mate Daniel Lloyd. Kate started the day at her parent’s beautiful home whilst Chris and the lads met up at a local pub for a pint (or two). Shooting video alongside me was the super talented Jo Gendle, who was great fun! The girls were certainly a lively bunch making for a good laugh during the wedding preparations. It all got a bit more serious when Kate popped her wedding dress on. When Ian, her proud father saw her he gave Kate a huge hug. It is one of my favourite photos from Kate and Chris’ wedding at Abbeywood Estate.
All Saints Church
I met up with Dan at All Saints Church in Daresbury, a church Dan knows well as he got married there himself! After the marriage service I got another favourite shot as Kate signed the wedding register with Chris looking a little unsure behind her. It’s another example of what I am always looking for when shooting wedding photography. Not just the obvious signing the register shot, but a real moment that captures the fun of a wedding.
Reception at Abbeywood Estate
After a brilliant confetti shot outside church, we headed over for the reception at Abbeywood Estate in the Delamere Forest. The weather was going against us so I quickly shot 20 minutes of couple photos before the rain started to bounce down. It’s safe to say my first time shooting Abbeywood Estate wedding photography was not a quiet, boring affair. With a free bar, the guests were having a brilliant time and Dan, Jo and I got plenty of amusing images of the wedding guests making the most of the free drinks. With Kate’s father being a writer his speech was a very funny and emotional. Ian had a lovely story from Kate’s childhood that may have just coincided with some dust getting in my eye ;o)
Tom Rocks and The Replicants
Not to be outdone, the best man performed a simply brilliant speech as he sang his entire speech. It had the guests going wild and ended with every person standing up to give him an outstanding ovation. After the wedding breakfast there was a break in the rain for the fireworks before the evening reception and first dance. The dance was performed by my great mates Tom Rocks and The Replicants. I’ve worked with the guys a few times in 2015 including Anna and Jon’s wedding at Priory Cottages and Laura and Chris’s wedding at The Plough Inn. Kate and Chris booked them on my recommendation, so it was great to hear Kate say they had blown her away with how amazing they were. Tom Rocks really are the best wedding band in the business. I can promise you, you won’t have anyone leave the dance floor when they are playing.
As the party was well and truly going crazy, I stuck around shooting just that little bit longer than usual. With bridesmaids joining the band, a guest singing Disco 2000 and the whole wedding party loving The Beatles, it was worth the late night drive home. So here’s Kate and Chris’ wedding at Abbeywood Estate. Photos by me and Dan, music by COLLEAGUES…
