Wedding Photography at Whinstone View
Last year, back in May, I had 3 weddings in 4 days and I thought that was challenging. This year I went one better. 4 weddings in 4 days, kicking off when Lara and Brad asked me to be their Whinstone View wedding photographer up near Middlesbrough. The day started with a very pleasant drive up the A1 to Lara’s parents in Yarm. If you’ve never been to Yarm, it’s a lovely little town but I can only say I’d heard of it as it was famous in my generation for Tall Trees nightclub, which had an almost mythical reputation as the greatest nightclub in the UK during the late 90’s and early 00’s.
Purpose Built Wedding Barn
So putting aside my lack of knowledge about Yarm I arrived at Lara’s parents for the bridal preparation. The church service was nearby before we all made our way to the reception at The Whinstone View Bistro. A new venue for me with a huge new purpose built barn, specifically built for their weddings. Considering it was a new building, they’ve done a cracking job of making it look like it’s been there for years and if you’re after a wedding with big numbers (like this one with over 150 people) then Whinstone View is ideal. As with all weddings, the day flew by with the guests enjoying a drink in the sun, none more so than the best man. To this day I’m still not sure how he managed to do his speech, but credit to him, he was the funniest drunk best man I’ve seen in 2014!
So here’s their day, music by Newton Faulkner, photos by me…
