Laura and Ed’s Wedding at Peckforton Castle

I always enjoy shooting Peckforton Castle wedding photography in Cheshire. Peckforton Castle is a fantastic venue for a wedding and it looks even better in beautiful spring sunshine. Both Laura and Ed were getting ready within the Castle. Laura was one of the most relaxed brides I’ve had the pleasure of photographing, but this shouldn’t come as a surprise as her day job as an airline pilot means that Laura is more than used to dealing with pressure! Ed is also an pilot, with them both meeting at flights school, so there was a strong flight theme running throughout the wedding day.

Wedding Flowers

The wedding service was held in the main hall in Peckforton Castle and I have to say the flowers by Kelly Louise Floral Artistry totally were sensational. They made the Hall looks stunning and the perfect backdrop for Laura and Ed’s wedding. It was obvious during the wedding service how happy Laura and Ed are, with plenty of laughter and smiles during their marriage service. Confetti showered Laura and Ed as they made their way back down the aisle and out into the beautiful sun to enjoy their reception in the grounds of Peckforton Castle.

Aerobatic Performance

There was a surprise awaiting the guests as they enjoyed champagne in the sun. One of Laura and Ed’s friends is an award winning acrobatic pilot and as the guests lined up for our pretend group shot, two planes flew over before performing an amazing aerobatic performance over Peckforton Castle. It was an amazing surprise and all the guests (and staff) enjoyed the brilliant display which ended with a love heart in the sky thanks to the two amazing pilots.

Bahookie Rock Caleigh

The wedding speeches followed before Laura and Ed joined myself, Steve Rooney (who was assisting me shooting all day) and Tom Harrington (on filming duties) in the woods next to Peckforton Castle. The low sun peeking through the trees gave us some lovely light for the portraits. We headed back inside for the caleigh band and what a band! Bahookie were simply amazing. A caleigh rock band that fuses traditional dancing and music with modern dance and rock music. The dancefloor was absolutely rocking. Mixing caleigh music with the Chemical Brothers is something you’d never think would work but Bahookie were simply outstanding.

Big thanks to Tom Harrington for being an absolute pleasure to work with as always. I loved shooting Laura and Ed’s Peckforton Castle wedding photography and can’t wait to share more from their day. In the meantime, here’s a few sneak peeks from an absolute corker of a wedding…
