Storrs Hall Wedding Photography | Keeley + Danny
Storrs Hall Wedding Photography
I always enjoy a trip up to the Lake District to photograph or film a wedding. It’s one of the most beautiful parts of the country, with spectacular scenery everywhere you look. Part of the reason the Lake District is so stunning is because of the varied weather and in the nicest possible way, the weather for Keeley and Danny’s wedding was, well, varied. I arrived to photograph Keeley and Danny’s Storrs Hall wedding photography in the morning to be greeted by heavy clouds and pouring rain. The forecast for the rest of the day wasn’t much better, but Storrs Hall is a beautiful hotel and wedding venue, so even if we were locked inside, there are more than enough opportunities for beautiful photography or film.
Unpredictable Lake District Weather
I started the day with Keeley for the bridal preparation before heading downstairs for the wedding service. Keeley and Danny laughed all the way through their wedding service before they made their way into the hotel for their drinks reception. I’d been keeping an eye on the weather and spotted a short 15 minute break in the rain, so credit to Keeley and Danny for racing outside to grab some couple photos in front of Lake Windermere. It didn’t take long for the rain to start again and we had to run quickly back inside to avoid the downpour.
Windermere Lake Cruise
Speeches followed the wedding breakfast and in the background I noticed that the clouds were clearing and the sun was appearing. With a lake cruise planned after the speeches, the sun could not have been better timed. The guests boarded a Windermere lake cruise ship and the party well and truly started on the boat. If you want to get your Lake Dsitrict wedding going you have to have a lake cruise as the party was brilliant. Once back on dry land Keeley and Danny held their first dance before partying long into the night. I loved my first time shooting Storrs Hall wedding photography and would love to return soon to film or photograph at this great Lake District wedding venue.
