Manchester Town Hall Wedding Photography // Sally and James
Wedding at Manchester Town Hall
Manchester Town Hall wedding photography is always an absolute favourite of mine and I’ve been lucky enough to have shot more weddings at Manchester Town Hall than any other venue (including Emma and David’s wedding in March last year) but I had never photographed a wedding and reception there. My love for Manchester Town Hall has been well covered in my other blog posts, it’s a beautiful building and Manchester has the best registrars too who are fun and relaxed which helps make any wedding at Manchester Town Hall a pleasure to photograph.
I was delighted when Sally and James booked me to shoot their Manchester Town Hall wedding photography in November as their entire wedding was to be held in the Town Hall. Sally was getting ready at the nearby Midland Hotel, a hotel I know well from Lauren and Barry’s wedding which I photographed back in 2014. When I arrived it was great to see Rebecca Anderton on hair and make up duties (we’ve done a few weddings together including Laura and Nathan’s wedding at Victoria Baths). It’s always great to see a familiar face at a wedding and I can heartily recommend Rebecca as her work is top class.
Manchester Christmas Markets
I made the short walk over to Manchester Town Hall from The Midland Hotel and met up with another supplier I really enjoy working alongside, Kirsty from Grace Films. I’ve had the pleasure of shooting alongside Kirsty a few times now including Anna and Jon’s Priory Cottages wedding and Francesca and Joe’s wedding at Harewood House earlier in the year. Kirsty is super discreet and her wedding films are beautiful, once again, I highly recommend you contact her to capture your day (especially as we both have a weakness for Cadbury’s Boost’s and when we work together one of us always brings a couple along!)
Sally and James’ marriage service was brilliant with the registrar delivering a wonderful service full of details about the Town Hall and it’s history, delivered in a unique and funny style. Whilst the reception was taking place Sally and James joined Kirsty and myself outside the Town Hall in the Manchester Christmas markets for some couple photos in amongst the crowds. I love seeing the reactions of the public when a bride and groom stroll in between them, it creates a completely different type of wedding photograph which I really enjoy creating. There was another first for me as DJ duties were in the very capable hands of Adam Carr. I’ve known Adam for a while but had never had the pleasure of working together until Sally and James’ Manchester Town Hall wedding photography and after the first dance, Adam had the dance floor well and truly partying away!
Once again, it was a brilliant day shooting a wedding at Manchester Town Hall, made even better as I was working alongside some of the best in the wedding business and I cannot wait to return to Manchester Town Hall this year. Here’s Sally and James’ Manchester Town Hall wedding photography. Music by Frank Sinatra (from their first dance), photos by me…
