Manchester Art Gallery Wedding Photography // Jo and Gordon

Manchester Art Gallery Wedding Photography

My first wedding of 2013. What a belter. Jo and Gordon has their Manchester Art Gallery wedding in early February. I covered the day starting at The Midland Hotel where Gordon and George were getting ready. This was a little unusual for me, I don’t normally see the groom until I arrive at the venue, but as Gordon had a spectacular Vivienne Westwood suit, I just did my normal things and shot the preparation as I would with the bride!

VW Camper Van

A short walk across Manchester took us to Manchester Art Gallery. Jo is an art teacher so this was the perfect venue, and what a venue! If you’re thinking of somewhere a little different then pop down to Manchester Art Gallery and see it for yourself. It wasn’t long before Jo arrived in a vintage camper van and it was at that point that the whole theme of the day became obvious, a tea party with more than a nod to Alice in Wonderland.

An Emotional Wedding Day

The service was wonderful, fun and emotional. After the wedding service we had exclusive use of Manchester Art Gallery for photos which made for some amazing backdrops to the couple shots before the tea party and speeches. The evening party started with Jo and Gordon’s first dance and then the celebrations went long into the night.

The day rounded off with some proper 80’s pop music (always a favourite of mine). So here is Gordon and Jo’s Manchester Art Gallery wedding photography…
