Bank Holiday Wedding at Eaves Hall // Lauren and Ben

Wedding at Eaves Hall

It was great to be back at Eaves Hall for Lauren and Ben’s bank holiday weekend wedding at the beginning of May. This was my third wedding at Eaves Hall this year. As I have mentioned many times before, this is a venue I love to shoot weddings at. I’ve shot at Eaves Hall a few times now (you can see more of my Eaves Hall weddings here) and it delivers every time I go. The venue is stunning and I love working alongside the top class team too. Lucky for me I have quite a few more weddings to come at Eaves Hall this year!

Sonara Parker Make Up

Lauren got ready at Eaves Hall and this meant I got to work with wedding legend Sonara Parker for the first time. Sonara is a multi award winning make up artist and one of the nicest people in the wedding industry. Sonara is more than just make up, she helped out all throughout the preparation and even took control of champagne opening (with a proper pop). Working alongside Sonara was fantastic fun and Lauren was absolutely delighted with her make up!

Christopher Hurst Mind Reader

Lauren and Ben got married at Eaves Hall and then their reception was outside Eaves Hall. The guests were well catered for with drinks from the bar on a huge red London bus. The guests were entertained by Christoper Hurst who performed his amazing mind reading as they all enjoyed a drink in the warm spring weather outside Eaves Hall.

Bank Holiday Wedding

With the couple photos taken in the gardens of Eaves Hall, the speeches were brilliant after the wedding breakfast. Before I knew it the cake was being cut and Lauren and Ben were doing their first dance. Their bank holiday wedding at Eaves Hall went on long into the night. I had a fantastic time back at one of my very favourite wedding venues.

So here’s Lauren and Ben’s bank holiday weekend wedding at Eaves Hall…

Storm Doris Wedding

You’re going to be seeing a few Eaves Hall weddings on my blog this year and this was my second wedding there already in 2017. Rebecca and Andy asked me to shoot Lancashire wedding photography at Eaves Hall. I’d only been at Eaves Hall a few weeks before to shoot Natalie and Rich’s winter wedding but conditions could not have been more different. Storm Doris had arrived in the UK and was due to descend on Eaves Hall (and the rest of the north) throughout Rebecca and Andy’s wedding. Storm Doris caused chaos all over the UK, however, despite the forecast, Rebecca and Andy’s wedding at Eaves Hall seemed to escape the worst. Although the wind did whip up a little, Storm Doris wasn’t going to stop Rebecca and Andy enjoying their wedding day at Eaves Hall.

Eaves Hall

I love shooting weddings at Eaves Hall for so many reasons. A stunning venue, beautiful gardens, great food and a superb team. I’m fortunate to be shooting a lot of weddings at Eaves Hall this year and it’s a superb wedding venue in Lancashire. Rebecca got ready in The Lodge before the wedding service that was held inside Eaves Hall. With a small break in Strom Doris, Rebecca and Andy braved the wind and light rain to head out into the gardens for their couple photos before the speeches, wedding breakfast and evening reception. As always, the team at Eaves Hall ran the wedding perfectly and it was a pleasure to work alongside such a brilliant bunch of people. Rebecca and Andy’s Lancashire wedding photography was another brilliant winter wedding, even with the added storm and I loved being back at Eaves Hall. So here’s their wedding day at Eaves Hall…

Winter Wedding At Eaves Hall // Natalie and Rich

a winter wedding at eaves hall

Winter Wedding

Natalie and Rich had their Eaves Hall winter wedding in January. More and more couples are opting for winter weddings in the UK thanks to our unpredictable weather throughout the year. My own wedding was in June yet the weather was that poor it could easily have been in the winter, so it’s easy to see why Natalie and Rich opted for their day outside of the main summer season. Winter weddings come with a lot of plus points, more venues are more likely to be available as are the suppliers you want. The obvious drawbacks are the weather which can be a little challenging in the winter months. However, with a bit of planning and a little bit of luck, you can still get amazing wedding photographs at a winter wedding.

Wedding at Eaves Hall

Natalie and Rich had their wedding at Eaves Hall, one of my very favourite venues. I’ve shot in all seasons at Eaves Hall (like Kayley and Alex’s spring wedding and Cara and Mike’s autumn wedding) and it is spectacular whenever you choose to get married. Natalie got ready at The Lodge before getting into her dress in the bridal suite. She then took the short walk to the ceremony where Rich was waiting nervously. Natalie and Rich smiled all the way throughout their marriage service before enjoying the love of their guests during the reception. A little rain didn’t stop Natalie and Rich from having their couple photos outside and in just ten minutes we defied the cold to shoot their photos.

The wedding breakfast followed along with the wedding speeches. Natalie and Rich were a fantastic couple to work with. They were relaxed and had a wonderful, fun winter wedding at Eaves Hall. I’m lucky to be shooting eight weddings at Eaves Hall in 2017, so there will be plenty of examples of how fantastic this venue is in each season throughout this year.

Ashton Memorial Wedding Photography // Tori and Ant

The Ashton Memorial Wedding Photography

Tori and Ant booked me to shoot their Ashton Memorial wedding photography at one of the most unique venues I have ever shot a wedding at. The Ashton Memorial is in Lancaster and was commissioned by James Williamson, Lord Ashton, as a tribute to his late wife. This beautiful building has been associated with love and romance ever since so it’s the perfect setting for a wedding.  With stunning marble floors, sweeping staircases and amazing views across Morecambe Bay towards the Lake District, the Memorial has plenty to offer. With Tori and Ant hailing from The Lake District, Ashton Memorial has the perfect backdrop with views of the lower lakes too!

Confetti Shower

Tori got ready in nearby Lancaster before arriving at Ashton Memorial in a vintage car with her father. Tori was proudly walked up the aisle by her father for the marriage service inside Ashton Memorial. It really is a stunning setting and completely unique to any other venue I have ever photographed a wedding within before. Once Tori and Ant had said their ‘I do’s’ and the register was signed they walked out of Ashton Memorial into a confetti shower before making the short walk to the cafe for tea and scones.

Williamson Park

With The Ashton Memorial being set inside Williamson Park, Tori and Ant made the most of their setting with couples photos all around the park before we finished off with a few photos outside Ashton Memorial. Tori and Ant had their wedding reception inside Ashton Memorial and after the wedding breakfast, speeches and a few more couple photos in the dark, it was time for the first dance and the evening reception where the guests were entertained by Tori’s talented brothers on acoustic guitar.

Tori and Ant’s Ashton Memorial wedding photography was fantastic. I absolutely loved the amazing venue and the unique photo opportunities it produced and I cannot wait to return. So here’s Tori and Ant’s Ashton Memorial wedding photography. Music by Bright Eyes, photos by me…

Bartle Hall Wedding Photography // Helen and Rob

Bartle Hall Wedding Photography

Bartle Hall Wedding Photography

Helen and Rob booked me to shoot their Bartle Hall wedding photography which meant I got to visit a new wedding venue. Bartle Hall is up in Preston and it’s a beautiful wedding venue and was recently voted the winner of North West Wedding Venue of the Year at The Wedding Industry Awards 2017. I arrived just before Helen and shot her final moments of preparation before heading down to shoot Rob waiting nervously. Helen was walked up the aisle by her proud father and Helen and Rob had an emotional and often amusing marriage service. After the wedding service Helen and Rob made their way into the gardens where their guests showered them in confetti.

Couple Photos

After the reception and wedding breakfast Helen and Rob joined me for a their couple photos in and around the grounds of Bartle Hall. We found a cool brick building which produced some great Bartle Hall wedding photography. Rob was keen to rejoin the wedding party as he’d just found out that Helen’s dad had surprised them by putting on a free bar for the evening reception. You can’t blame him for that! With Helen’s favourite song, Rule The World by Take That for their first dance, the evening reception kicked off and with a free bar there was no surprise everyone was having an amazing time.

I really enjoyed my first time as a Bartle Hall wedding photographer and I’m looking forward to returning there soon. If you’re looking for a wedding photographer for your Bartle Hall wedding click below to enquire about my pricing and availability. So here’s Helen and Rob’s Bartle Hall wedding photography. West Tower Wedding Photography // Cat and Andy

Wedding Photography at West Tower

Cat and Andy booked me to shoot their West Tower wedding photography after I shot Cat’s brother’s wedding last year. After seeing Gary and Rachel’s photos, Cat got in touch to ask me to shoot their wedding photography at West Tower. West Tower was a new wedding venue for me and it’s an absolute cracker. West Tower is an exclusive use venue with fantastic grounds perfect for wedding photography with a brilliant team there who run the day perfectly.

B2b Productions

Working alongside me was Dave from B2b Productions shooting Cat and Andy’s wedding film. Dave was an absolute please work alongside. As a veteran of over 350 weddings, Dave is a bit of a wedding film expert and you wouldn’t know he was around as he is so discreet. Dave was also great company and we had a good laugh working together throughout the day.

Stunning Summer Sun

Cat and Andy were both getting ready at West Tower so I was able to hop between rooms to capture the preparation for both. All the guests had arrived at church and as Cat set off, the wedding car broke down! However, all was not lost as the best man hot footed it from the church back to West Tower to save the day. The guests didn’t mind the slight delay and it wasn’t long before Cat was walking up the aisle to marry Andy. Once married everyone made their way to West Tower to enjoy canapes and drinks in the stunning summer sun. It was an absolutely beautiful summer’s day and the guests made the most of the gardens for the reception.

Natural Couple Photos

Once the speeches and cake cutting was complete the sunset was absolutely amazing so Dave and myself made the most of the beautiful light to capture some natural couple photos in the gardens of West Tower. I really enjoyed shooting with the amazing sunlight and I captured some of my favourite images of the year.

So here’s Cat and Andy’s West Tower wedding photography. Music by Lydmor,  photos by me…

Wedding at Eaves Hall // Leah and Ryan

Wedding at Eaves Hall

Leah and Ryan had their wedding at Eaves Hall back in August. It was my third visit to Eaves Hall in 2016 and I love shooting weddings there. My first wedding was Cara and Mike’s wedding at the end of 2015 and I quickly fell in love with Eaves Hall as a wedding venue.  It was the same for Leah and Ryan who also fell in love with Eaves Hall and decided it was the perfect venue for their wedding service and reception. Leah was getting ready in the bridal suite in the main hall. I started the day shooting the morning preparations with Leah and her team of bridesmaid.

James Wray Wedding Cinematography

Leah and Ryan’s wedding at Eaves Hall saw me working alongside James Wray Wedding Cinematography again, only a week after shooting with James at Jen and Lewis’ wedding at The Etrop Grange. As I’ve previously said, I’m a huge fan of James’ work, he shoots weddings in a very discreet manner and his wedding films are truly stunning. I also have a big thanks to give to James and it was his recommendation that helped Ryan and Leah decide to book me for their wedding at Eaves Hall. I’ve been able to send a few 2017 wedding bookings back his way so I am pleased to be working with James Wray again next year!

Unscripted, Real Emotion

Once Leah was ready and her father had seen her in the dress for the first time we made our way to the wedding service room. Ryan was waiting, looking very dapper in his suit from Whitfield and Ward and it was here I took one of my favourite wedding photos as Ryan saw Leah in the mirror and he wiped a tear from his eye as she walked up the aisle. This for me is the type of wedding photograph that I absolutely love. Completely unscripted, real emotion. Once married, Ryan and Leah headed outside to celebrate with their friends and family before a 20 minute walk around the gardens of Eaves Hall for the couple photos alongside James Wray. With the speeches and wedding breakfast complete and the cake cut, it was time for the first dance and the end of my day shooting Leah and Ryan’s wedding at Eaves Hall.

So here’s Leah and Ryan’s wedding at Eaves Hall. Music by Christine and The Queens…

Ribble Valley Wedding Photographer // Anna May and David at Eaves Hall

Ribble Valley Wedding

Anna May and David had their Ribble Valley wedding at Eaves Hall, one of the finest wedding venues in the area. I met up with Anna May at her home, a beautiful converted barn, for the morning preparation. Anna May knows the wedding world very well herself as she is a wedding make up artist. Once her make up was ready and Anna May was in her dress I set off over to Eaves Hall to catch up with David and his team.

Eaves Hall is stunning venue and I love photographing weddings there like Cara and Mike’s Eaves Hall wedding photography which I shot in October 2015. Anna May and David’s wedding featured an outdoor service which was a first for me at Eaves Hall. The weather played its part as it was a beautiful summers day and the marriage service was fantastic.

Eaves Hall

After the wedding service and confetti had been thrown, the guests enjoyed the glorious grounds of Eaves Hall. If you are looking for a Ribble Valley wedding venue that really does have it all then you must check out Eaves Hall. It’s a beautiful building with modern decor, stunning gardens and a fantastic team. It really is one of my favourite wedding venues and it never fails to produce brilliant weddings.

Anna May and David spent twenty minutes in the gardens for their couple photos before the speeches and wedding breakfast. It wasn’t long before it was time for Anna May and David’s first dance. It was a fantastic day as a Ribble Valley wedding photographer and as always, I cannot wait to return to Eaves Hall.

Beeston Manor Wedding Photography // Lisa and Ben

beeston manor wedding photography

Wedding Photography at Beeston Manor

Lisa and Ben asked me to shoot their Beeston Manor wedding photography which meant I got to make my first visit to Beeston Manor in Samlesbury. My day started with Lisa at her home where the bridal preparation was taking place. Lisa’s dad couldn’t hold back his emotion when he saw her in the wedding dress for the first time, which always makes for lovely wedding photography. There was a short journey over to Beeston Manor where I met up with Ben. Beeston Manor is a lovely wedding venue set in the Lancashire countryside. The wedding service was held in the upstairs barn where Ben waited, a little nervously, for Lisa to arrive. Once Lisa had made her way up the aisle, all the nerves seemed to disappear and be replaced with large beaming smiles as Lisa and Ben became husband and wife.

Alex Birtwell

Once the marriage service was over Lisa and Ben led all their guests out into the glorious summer sun in the gardens at Beeston Manor. When the weather is as good as it was, Beeston Manor wedding photography is wonderful fun. Lisa and Ben’s wedding guests enjoyed the weather whilst being entertained by the wonderfully talented Alex Birtwell. Alex performed live all afternoon and really added to the celebration and I would heartily recommend him to sing at your Beeston Manor wedding.

Natural Couple Photos

The speeches were a raucous affair as Lisa’s father kicked off the proceedings with a heartfelt and funny speech. Ben then took over and he is normally the one handing out the jokes, but with four (yes four) best men, even Ben had to reign it in! Ben’s best men did not disappoint and he was well and truly ribbed by the best men, all in good nature mind you! After the speeches the sun had dropped a little and as it started to set Lisa and Ben headed out into the fields for their Beeston Manor wedding photography. Lisa and Ben were brilliant fun and they enjoyed the twenty minutes we spent together laughing and joking with each other. With amazing low sunlight we got some wonderful, natural couple photos before we headed back for Lisa and Ben’s first dance and the end of my first day as a Beeston Manor wedding photographer.

So here’s Lisa and Ben’s Beeston Manor wedding photography. Music by Youth Club, photos by me…

Kayley and Alex’s Wedding at Eaves Hall

 wedding at eaves hall

Wedding at Eaves Hall

I’ve raved about Eaves Hall before on the blog, when I shot Cara and Mike’s Eaves Hall wedding photography in October last year. Eaves Hall is a beautiful venue set in the Ribble Valley in Lancashire.  I was delighted to head back to photograph Kayley and Alex’s wedding. Kayley was getting ready in the main bridal suite and it was nice to see Samantha Mercer on hair and make up duties again. The preparation flew by and Kayley was soon in her dress with her father seeing her for the first time.

The marriage service was conducted by the same registrars as the last wedding I photographed at Eaves Hall (the registrar remembering me as we are both ex-police) and it was another fun and personal service, perfect for Kayley and Alex who are a very relaxed and easy going couple! Once the first kiss had taken place all the guests made their way onto the stairs outside Eaves Hall for a terrific confetti photo, one of my favourite photographs from Kayley and Alex’s Eaves Hall wedding.

Typical April Weather

With the weather being typical of April, we braved the light rain to grab 15 minutes worth of natural couple photos in the grounds of Eaves Hall. Despite the less than perfect conditions, Kayley and Alex were absolute superstars  and never complained once about the rain and we quickly got the shots before returning inside so Kayley and Alex could grab a well earned glass of fizz! The speeches kicked off the wedding breakfast and Alex was well and truly ribbed by his new father in law who desperately wants any future grand kids to support his beloved Southampton rather than Alex’s team, Burnley. After that, Alex’s two best men then continued to rip his good name apart (all in good fun) and I thoroughly enjoyed their performance which got a well deserved standing ovation.

With the rain still pouring down I knew that we could get a brilliant back lit photo outside Eaves Hall and Kalyey and Alex were pretty impressed with the photo at the top of the blog when I showed them a sneak peek on the back of my Nikon. Rain can be a bit of a pain on a wedding day but it can also create some amazing wedding photographs. The top team from Dancefloor Couture were on hand to get the first dance and party started as I finished shooting my second Eaves Hall wedding.

Once again a massive thanks to Barry and the team at Eaves Hall for looking after me, feeding me more than any human could possibly eat and making the day run so smoothly. It really is a top class venue then go and look at Eaves Hall for your wedding.
