Autumn Wedding at Colshaw Hall // Amy and James
Amy and James’ Autumn Wedding at Colshaw Hall
I love photographing weddings at Colshaw Hall and I have been fortunate enough to have shot that many weddings there that I have shot in every season. Amy and James had their Colshaw Hall wedding in beautiful autumnal sunshine at one of Cheshire’s most beautiful venues. Amy and James’ wedding did have a first for me though. It was the first wedding shooting with a Sony mirrorless camera. After always being a Nikon shooter, I had made the jump over to Sony and I was very much looking forward to testing out my new Sony A9 in the heat of a real wedding. Without getting too geeky, the Sony A9 was superb on the day and it quickly became my number 1 camera as I made the full switch over to Sony.
Chloe Johnston Make Up Artist
There were a few friendly faces at Amy and James’ wedding, starting with make up artist Chloe Johnson. I’ve worked with Chloe on a few weddings (including Emily and Chris at Colshaw Hall) and she is a superb make up artist. Amy was delighted with Chloe’s efforts and I would highly recommend Chloe for your wedding. It was also great to see the brilliant team of Shelley from Colshaw Hall and toastmaster Ian Brown on duty to ensure Amy and James’ autumn wedding at Colshaw Hall ran smoothly (as usual). It’s always a pleasure to work at a venue where I know the team well, it is so easy to work alongside top professionals and I always know that any wedding at Colshaw Hall will be great fun!
Magician Sam Fitton
Amy and James got married in The Stables before heading back to The Pavilion for drinks and canapes. Another familiar face was awaiting as top magician Sam Fitton was on hand (pun intended) to entertain Amy and James’ guests with his magic tricks. Having a magician creates many fantastic photo opportunities during the reception and it’s a great way to create something exciting for your guests to enjoy. Sam Fitton is one of the very best in the U.K. (So good I hired him for my own 40th birthday party). Needless to say, I can highly recommend Sam Fitton!
Beautiful Autumnal Sun
Amy and James made the most of the beautiful autumnal sun for their couple photos in the grounds of Colshaw Hall. Spending twenty minutes with myself, we ventured into the gardens for some lightly directed couple photos. The golden colours and low sun really added to the photos. I love shooting in all seasons, but autumn is definitely my favourite, rich colours, great light and a beautiful venue are all ingredients that make for great wedding photographs. As the guests were seated Sam Fitton performed for Amy and James and then the speeches kicked off the wedding breakfast. As the darkness closed in we spent a few minutes outside creating some shots with flash before heading in to the warmth of Colshaw Hall for the first dance. As always, I loved shooting Amy and James’ Autumn wedding at Colshaw Hall. Thanks to the Shelley, Ian and the top team at Barretts Event Caterers for looking after me as always.
