Hi, I’m James, I’m based up in the Saddleworth hills close to Manchester. My interest in photography started back in college in the mid 90’s when we had a couple of photography modules using film and the dark room. As a poor student, buying a ‘proper’ camera was just a dream. Fast forward to 2010 and a promotion in my old job meant I could afford a Nikon DSLR, around the time all my friends were getting married. I realised quickly that photographing people was my thing and after my own wedding in 2012, I decided to try my hand at shooting a few weddings. 

Within 12 months I had shot over 20 weddings and had 30 booked for the following year. I didn’t have much of a choice, I quit the day job and started shooting weddings full time. Since then, I’ve photographed over 300 weddings all over the U.K, I’ve travelled to Italy, Ibiza (twice) and New York City to shoot weddings, won a few awards, featured in pretty much every wedding magazine and blog and appeared twice on TV. I’ve photographed intimate elopements through to 500 guest weddings, I’ve photographed TV and film actors, an ex-Formula One driver, an England international footballer, triple gold medal winning Olympic rowers, TV personalities, a member of one of my very favourite bands and many many wonderful couples over the past 9 years.

In 2018 I started filming weddings and I absolutely love creating wedding films. It’s similar but totally different to photography and I’ve taken many of the skills I have developed from films into my photography. 

I got married to my amazing wife Laura back in 2012 and I’m now dad to our gorgeous little girls Ana and Jaime. I loved my own wedding day and want every one of my couples to enjoy their day as much as we enjoyed our own.

What makes me tick? I’m a big fan of football and Formula One, I love TV series like The Sopranos (the best ever!) and of course watching movies (every weekend with a large bag of Revels), keeping as fit as I can (although I don’t really enjoy it, I just do it to eat the Revels), travelling to new countries and seeing the world, relaxing holidays, and spending time with my friends, family, Laura and my two little girls.
