Wedding at Pimhill Barn

I like to travel around and take in new venues so when Clare and Tom asked me to shoot their Pimhill Barn wedding photography I was very excited. Pimhill Barn is a venue where you can have complete creative control of your wedding day and as Clare and Tom are both TV directors, creativity was not in short supply and their wedding at Pimhill Barn looked amazing! I started the day shooting the bridal preparations at the cottage within the grounds of the farm before making the short journey to the church where I arrived ahead of Clare who arrived in a white London taxi (Clare and Tom now live in London) whilst Tom sat nervously waited at the top of the aisle for Clare.

With full access to shoot the marriage service I stayed at the top of the aisle to photograph the wedding service. After Clare and Tom were married we had a terrific confetti photo before everyone made their way to Pimhill Barn for the reception. Although it was a cool October day, with a couple of heaters the guests enjoyed the complimentary champagne and Ale in the outdoor courtyard whilst Clare and Tom spent 20 minutes with me in and around the farm.

Wedding Photos in Autumn

I’m not alone in loving autumn, it’s the perfect time for wedding photos with all the beautiful colours in the trees. So couple this with a stunning gardens and a farm and there were plenty of options for me to shoot some amazing Pimhill Barn wedding photography. I made the most of the setting with some photos in and around the gardens before we went into the farm for some slightly edgier wedding photos in front of one of my favourite backdrops, a steel shutter. I always love how striking photos are in front of shutters, especially in black and white . Whilst we shot the photos the guests made their way inside the barn which had been styled by Sophie from Cotton and Beau. I have to say, the barn looked amazing with huge long tables named after Nintendo video games (I’m guessing that was Tom’s influence) and fantastci, rustic decoration. The barn was quite dark inside, pushing my Nikon’s and prime lenses to their limits but the low light created some wonderful, moody Pimhill Barn wedding photography.

The speeches were brilliant and Tom’s best man had everyone in stitches with some stories that had Tom looking more than a little worried at times. Fortunately nothing too embarrassing was revealed before Clare and Tom took to the dance floor for their first dance. The dance floor was well and truly rocked by the superb We Have You Covered who kicked off the party which then went on long into the night. I loved every minute of shooting Clare and Tom’s Pimhill Barn wedding photography. So here’s their day, photos by me, music by Anna of The North…
