Wedding Photography at Christie’s Bistro Manchester

A couple of years ago I had the absolute pleasure of travelling to Ibiza for Vicky and Matt’s wedding at Elixir Shore Club. Whilst there I got to meet Laura, who was one of Vicky’s bridesmaids. I’ve got to know Laura better as we have worked together on a couple of weddings as Laura is now half of Unique Bridal Beauty along with Vicky. So I was mega excited to shoot Laura and Andrew’s Christies Bistro wedding photography in April this year.

It was my first time shooting wedding photography at Christie’s Bistro but not my first time shooting a wedding at the stunning Manchester Town Hall, where Laura and Andrew tied the knot. I caught up with all the ladies at The Premier Inn in Manchester for the morning preparation. Having photographed the bridesmaids before in Ibiza, the ladies knew exactly what to expect and let me crack on shooting the craziness in the background. It was a short walk over to Manchester Town Hall for the marriage service where Andrew was hosting the wedding guests before Laura arrived.

I love a wedding service in Manchester Town Hall, the city has the best registrars who create a relaxed and fun marriage service. Once Laura and Andrew were married we had a quick 10 minutes in Manchester Town Hall grabbing some lovely couple photos before we braved the typical Manchester weather and made our way to Manchester University for Laura and Andrew’s Christie Bistro wedding photography. Christie’s Bistro was designed by Alfred Waterhouse, who also designed Manchester Town Hall so Christie’s Bistro share a lot of the same features and styling as The Town Hall. Originally Christie’s Bistro was a library and it remains many of the original features including the huge book cases. It is a beautiful room to celebrate a wedding within.

With the wedding breakfast and speeches complete the weather changed and we got some lovely low sun which Laura and Andrew made the most of with a short walk into the University grounds for some extra Christie’s Bistro wedding photography.
